Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the voltage in the circuit to the adaptive force limiter on the front passenger. The code is stored when the voltage is too high and the incorrect value has lasted for a while. The cause may be a wire shorted to supply voltage or a short circuit in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connections between the module and the force limiter, including contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to voltage and repair what is found
- 4Have a workshop replace the front passenger's adaptive force limiter if needed
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice3
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
- An SRS warning message is shown
- A warning symbol and a text message are shown
