What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the voltage in the circuit to the left front side impact sensor. The code is stored when no direct current voltage is present in the circuit. The cause may be an open circuit in the wire, or loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation at the connectors.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wire
- Loose connectors, contact resistance or oxidation at the connectors
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connections between the module and the side impact sensor, including contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for an open circuit and repair what is found
- 4If the fault appeared after the side impact sensor was replaced, the wrong sensor may have been fitted; have a workshop check this
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- A warning symbol and a text message are shown
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
