What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the internal parts of the occupant weight sensor (OWS). The code is stored when the internal parts stop working and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The cause may be communication interference, a damaged sensor or calibration that has not been done.
Possible causes
- Communication interference
- Damaged occupant weight sensor (OWS)
- Calibration not completed
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2If the code SRS-B00A054 is also stored, have that fault dealt with first; then clear the codes and check whether the occupant weight sensor codes return
- 3Have a workshop check the connections to the occupant weight sensor and replace the sensor if needed, then calibrate it after replacement
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice3
- The SRS warning light comes on
- An SRS warning message is shown
- The PAD lamp comes on
