System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the voltage in the circuit to the driver's seat position sensor. The code is stored when the voltage is too high and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The cause may be a wire shorted to supply voltage, a short circuit in the connections, or contact resistance in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop visually check the connections between the module and the seat position sensor, including contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to supply voltage and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- A yellow or red warning symbol and a text message are shown
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
