SRS-B00B515 - Driver Seat Track Position Restraints Sensor. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery or open
System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the voltage in the circuit to the driver's seat position sensor. The code is stored when the voltage is too high or when there is no direct current voltage, and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The cause may be a wire shorted to supply voltage, an open circuit in the wire, a short circuit in the connections, or contact resistance in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Open circuit in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the module and at the seat position sensor for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to voltage or an open circuit and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
- An SRS warning message is shown
