What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) measures the direct current in the circuit to the driver's seat position sensor. The code is stored when the current is incorrect and the incorrect value has persisted for a while. The cause may be shorted wiring, a short circuit in the connections, or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Short-circuited wiring
- Short circuit in the connections
- Damaged driver's seat position sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the module and at the seat position sensor for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to voltage and repair what is found
- 4Have a workshop replace the driver's seat position sensor if needed
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning light comes on
- An SRS warning message is shown
