What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) monitors the circuit to the driver's seat position sensor. The code is stored when that circuit is short-circuited to another circuit and the fault has been present for a while. The cause is a wire short-circuited to another circuit, or a short circuit in the connections.
Possible causes
- A wire is short-circuited to another circuit
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: read whether other fault codes of the same type are stored in the restraint system, as they may point to the same short circuit
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the module and at the seat position sensor, and the connections that join the wiring
- 3Have a workshop check the wire against other circuits and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning light comes on
- An SRS warning message is shown
