What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) has found a fault in passenger seat occupant classification sensor "B" in the passenger seat. The fault may lie in a wire or in the belt force sensor that belongs to the system, so the system cannot rely on the sensor's reading.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wiring
- Wiring short-circuited to voltage
- Wiring short-circuited to ground
- The belt force sensor is installed incorrectly
- The belt force sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check that the belt force sensor is installed correctly and that its wiring is routed correctly
- 3Have a workshop check the connectors to the occupant weight sensor and the belt force sensor for play, oxidation and contact resistance, and check the wiring for open circuit and short circuit
- 4Have a workshop replace the belt force sensor if it is damaged
- 5Do not work on the airbag system in the seat yourself; have a workshop carry out the checks and the replacement
