Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) measures the voltage to the seat track position sensor for the passenger seat. The fault is stored when the voltage is too low, and the cause can be a wire short-circuited to ground (the body) or poor contact in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to ground (the body)
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the wire between the control module and the passenger seat track position sensor for a short circuit to ground
- 3Have a workshop check the connectors in the wiring, including other connectors between the control module and the sensor, for play, oxidation and contact resistance
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault after the check and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
