What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) measures the voltage to the driver-side belt reel sensor. The fault is stored when the voltage is too low, which can be caused by a wire short-circuited to ground (the body) or by poor contact in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to ground (the body)
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors to the driver-side belt reel sensor and to the airbag control module for play, oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to ground, including any other connectors linking it
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
