What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) receives faulty communication from the passenger-side belt reel sensor. The fault can be caused by an open circuit in the wire, a wire that has come into contact with voltage, or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wire
- Wire short-circuited to voltage
- The passenger-side belt reel sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors in the wiring to the passenger-side belt reel sensor for play, oxidation and contact resistance, including other connectors that link it
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for an open circuit and for a short to voltage
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
