What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) monitors the voltage in the circuit to the passenger airbag enable lamp, the PAE lamp. The voltage is too low, which can be caused by a wire short-circuited to ground (the body) or by poor contact in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to ground (the body)
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors in the wiring between the roof light control unit and the airbag control module for looseness and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to ground, including any other connectors that link it
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
