What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) monitors the voltage in the circuit to the PAE lamp. The fault is stored when the voltage is too high or missing altogether, which can happen when wires have come into contact with voltage or been broken, or when there are contact problems in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Open circuit in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connections between the roof light control unit and the airbag control module for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance, including other connectors in the run
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to voltage and for a break
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
