Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) receives no signal on the wire carrying the crash signal to the central electronic module (CEM). The cause can be a short to ground or voltage, an open circuit, poor contact in the connections, or an incorrect supply voltage to the airbag control module.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to ground (the body)
- Wire short-circuited to voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Open circuit in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Incorrect supply voltage to the airbag control module
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors between the airbag control module and the CEM for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance, including other connectors along the signal wire
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for a break and for a short to ground or voltage
- 4Have a workshop check that the airbag control module receives the correct supply voltage
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning lamp on
- SRS warning message shown in the display
