SRS-B1A5568 - Crash record output. Algorithm Based Failures. Event information
System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) continuously receives information from the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN communication. The fault is stored when the CEM sends an error message about the crash signal. The causes can be shorted or broken wires, poor contact, an incorrect supply voltage or a damaged module.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to voltage or ground
- Short circuit in the connections
- Open circuit in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Incorrect supply voltage to the airbag control module
- Damaged airbag control module or central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors between the airbag module and the CEM for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance, including other connectors along the signal wire
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for a short to voltage or ground, and for a break
- 4Have a workshop check the supply voltage to the airbag control module and decide whether either module is damaged
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the troubleshooting
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning lamp on
- SRS warning message shown in the display
