What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) monitors the voltage in the circuit to the switch that turns the passenger airbag off. The fault is stored when the voltage is too high, which can be caused by a wire that has come into contact with voltage, or by loose contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Loose contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop look over the joints between the airbag module and the switch, both by eye and for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for contact with voltage
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault after the check
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
Symptoms you may notice4
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- Red warning symbol and text message in the display
