What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module (SRS) monitors the voltage in the circuit to the switch that turns the passenger airbag off. The fault is stored when the voltage is too high or missing, which can be caused by a wire with contact to voltage, an open circuit, or contact problems in the connections.
Possible causes
- Wire short-circuited to voltage
- Short circuit in the connections
- Open circuit in the wire
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors and any other connectors in the wire to the switch for looseness and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a break and for contact with voltage
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
