SRS-C006A28
VOLVO
SRS-C006A28 - Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor. General Signal Failures. Signal bias level out of range / zero adjustment failure
System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The calibration of the inertial measurement unit (IMU) in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) could not be completed in full. The fault stays set until the calibration has been redone and has succeeded.
Possible causes
- The IMU calibration did not succeed
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop recalibrate the inertial measurement unit (IMU) with the car standing still on level ground and not rocking during the process
- 2A successful calibration shows as the text message clearing and the SRS warning light going out a short while after the ignition is switched back on
- 3After calibration, codes SRS-C006A28 and SRS-C006A54 must not be set; if either is still present, the calibration has failed and must be redone
- 4Have the workshop also calibrate the brake control module (BCM), since it needs the sensor signals to work without faults
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it if the calibration does not succeed
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text message in the instrument cluster
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect2
- Other systems that use the accelerometer signals do not work fully until calibration is complete
- The SRS functions still work without calibration
