VOLVO
SRS-C006A54 - Multi-axis Acceleration Sensor. System Programming Failures. Missing calibration
System
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The supplemental restraint system control module does not have a valid calibration of the inertial measurement unit (IMU). This means the calibration is either missing or incorrect, and the fault stays set until a valid calibration has been carried out.
Possible causes
- The inertial measurement unit (IMU) has incorrect calibration or no calibration
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop calibrate the inertial measurement unit (IMU), with the car standing still on level ground
- 2After calibration the text message should clear and the SRS warning light should go out a short while after the ignition is switched on
- 3If SRS-C006A28 or SRS-C006A54 is still present after calibration, the calibration has failed and must be redone
- 4Have the workshop also calibrate the brake control module (BCM) once the sensor is done, so its functions work without faults
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it if the fault remains after calibration
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text message in the instrument cluster
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect2
- Other systems that use the accelerometer signals do not work fully
- The SRS functions still work without calibration
