Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has a communication fault with the passenger weight sensor, and the signal reads either too high or too low. The fault is caused by the signal cable short-circuiting to supply voltage or ground. While the fault is present, the passenger airbag is deactivated.
Possible causes
- The LIN signal cable or its connectors have short-circuited to supply voltage or ground
What you can do
- 1Erase the code with a diagnostic tool, switch the ignition off for a while and on again, and see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the signal cable and connectors for short-circuits to supply voltage and to ground
- 3If no fault is found, have a workshop replace the airbag control module, and then the pressure sensor and module of the passenger weight sensor if the fault remains
- 4After part replacement the airbag system must be configured and the passenger weight sensor calibrated; this is workshop work
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all checks and replacements
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning light on
- PAD lamp on
What the fault can affect1
- Passenger airbag is deactivated
