What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has registered a communication fault with the passenger weight sensor. The fault may come from a damaged signal cable or connector, or from a damaged passenger weight sensor. While the fault is present, the passenger airbag is deactivated.
Possible causes
- Damage to the signal cable (LIN bus) or to the connectors between the airbag module and the passenger weight sensor
- Damaged passenger weight sensor
What you can do
- 1Erase the code with a diagnostic tool, switch the ignition off for a while and then on again to see whether the fault returns
- 2Have a workshop check the signal cable (LIN bus) and the connectors to the passenger weight sensor for open circuits
- 3If no fault is found, have a workshop replace the pressure sensor and module of the passenger weight sensor
- 4After replacement the airbag system must be configured and the passenger weight sensor calibrated; this is workshop work
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all checks and replacements
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning light on
- PAD lamp on
What the fault can affect1
