Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The airbag system compares its battery voltage with the voltage to the central electronic module (CEM). If the CEM receives a clearly higher voltage than the airbag system for a longer period, the code is set. Fault-tracing starts at the battery feed to the airbag system.
Possible causes
- Open-circuit, short-circuit to ground, contact resistance, oxidation or loose connection in the battery feed
What you can do
- 1Erase the code with a diagnostic tool, switch the ignition off for a while and on again to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the battery feed to the airbag system for open-circuits, short-circuits to ground, contact resistance, oxidation and loose connections
- 3Have the workshop remedy the supply fault as needed
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and any repairs
Symptoms you may notice2
- Information lamp on
- SRS warning message displayed
