Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module normally receives information from the closing velocity module (CVM) over an internal CAN connection, and the code is set when communication with the CVM stops. The fault may lie in the CVM or in the wiring between the airbag module and the CVM.
Possible causes
- The fault cause may lie in the closing velocity module (CVM), which is the transmitting control module
- Open-circuit or loose connection in the wiring between the airbag module and the closing velocity module (CVM)
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes in the car and start with those in the central electronic module (CEM) and the brake control module (BCM), if any are stored
- 2Have a workshop fault-trace the closing velocity module (CVM)
- 3Have a workshop check the wiring to the CVM for open-circuits and loose contacts, and whether it runs near interference sources
- 4Do not erase the code until the codes in the CEM and other affected control modules have been remedied; erase it last
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all wiring and control module checks
Symptoms you may notice3
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- Red warning symbol and text message in the display
