What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has been used for End-of-Life activation, meaning it was used to activate pyrotechnic protection in a scrapped car. It may therefore no longer be used in traffic, and the code is set.
Possible causes
- The control module comes from a scrapped car
- The control module has been used for End-of-Life activation in a scrapped car and may therefore not be used in traffic, only for further End-of-Life activation
- Damaged airbag control module
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault code with a diagnostic tool and hand it over to a workshop to decide on replacement
- 2Have a workshop replace the airbag control module; a module from a scrapped car may not be used in traffic
- 3When replacing, the accelerometer (IMU) must be calibrated and the airbag system powered up, which is workshop work
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all work on the module
