What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has found that the car is incorrectly configured, meaning the equipment fitted does not match what the car is configured for. The fault is algorithm based, and fault-tracing starts by comparing the car's configuration data with its equipment.
Possible causes
- The equipment fitted in the car does not match the configuration the car is set up for
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment confirm that the car's configuration data matches its equipment
- 2Have a workshop inspect the connectors and harness to the control module and test them for contact resistance and corrosion
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop correct the equipment or configuration and replace the module if needed
- 4After a module is replaced, the accelerometer (IMU) must be calibrated; this is workshop work
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all checks and work
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text message in the display
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
