Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The airbag module is supplied through two separately fused power inputs, and this code concerns input B. The code is set when the voltage stays too low for a longer period. Causes may be low battery voltage, a damaged alternator, poor contact or a short to ground in the supply wire.
Possible causes
- A short-circuit to ground in the supply cable
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Low battery voltage
- Damaged alternator
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the battery's condition and that its terminals are tight
- 2If only SRS-U300716 or SRS-U300717 is set, have a workshop start with the supply cable to the fuse box in the engine compartment
- 3Have a workshop check the alternator's charging function and the voltage supply and ground to the airbag module
- 4After the work, switch the ignition off, switch it on again and see whether the code is gone
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out all wiring and control module checks
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning light comes on or behaves abnormally
