What does this fault code mean?
The subwoofer module has registered a signal that is too high or too low on the wire feeding voice coil 2 of the bass speaker. The fault comes from that wire short-circuiting to supply voltage or to ground.
Possible causes
- The cable to voice coil 2 is short-circuited to supply voltage between the amplifier and the speaker
- The cable to voice coil 2 is short-circuited to ground between the amplifier and the speaker
What you can do
- 1Erase the code with a diagnostic tool, switch the ignition off for a while and on again to see whether it returns
- 2Switch the ignition off, disconnect the connectors to the subwoofers behind the rear seat and inspect the cable terminals for damage or pressed-back contacts
- 3Use a multimeter to check whether the wire to voice coil 2 has contact with ground (the body) or with supply voltage, and repair as needed
- 4After the work, switch the ignition on and check that sound comes from the loudspeakers again
Symptoms you may notice2
- No sound from the loudspeakers
- Muted sound from the loudspeaker
