What does this fault code mean?
The subwoofer module has registered a signal that is too high or too low on the cable to the voice coil in one or both subwoofers. The fault comes from that cable being short-circuited to supply voltage or to ground.
Possible causes
- The signal cable between the amplifier and the voice coil in the subwoofer is short-circuited to supply voltage
- The signal cable between the amplifier and the voice coil in the subwoofer is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Switch the ignition off, disconnect the connectors to the subwoofers behind the rear seat and inspect the cable terminals for damage or pressed-back contacts
- 2Use a multimeter to check whether the wires have contact with ground (the body) or supply voltage, and repair as needed
- 3If the wires are intact, have a workshop fault-trace the subwoofer module
- 4After the work, switch the ignition on and check that sound comes from the loudspeakers again
Symptoms you may notice1
- No sound from the subwoofer
