What does this fault code mean?
The signal to the voice coil in the left or right bass speaker is too low. This indicates that the signal wire has contact with ground (the car body), so the bass speaker can stop producing sound.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the signal wire between the amplifier and the voice coil in the left or right bass speaker
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the audio system are intact
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the affected bass speaker has no contact with ground (the car body)
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the left and right bass speakers one at a time and listen for which one gives no sound
- 4Read out and clear the code, then test-drive with the audio system on to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the amplifier
