What does this fault code mean?
No signal reaches the voice coil in the left bass speaker, which means the signal wire is broken somewhere between the amplifier and the speaker. The left bass speaker can then stop producing sound.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire between the amplifier and the voice coil in the left bass speaker
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the audio system are intact
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire between the amplifier and the left bass speaker is continuous; a break shows up as no continuity
- 3Check the connectors at the amplifier and at the left bass speaker for loose, corroded or chafed wires
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the left bass speaker and listen for any sound
- 5Read out and clear the code and test-drive to see whether it returns. Have a workshop check the amplifier if the fault remains
