What does this fault code mean?
No signal comes from the position sensor at the left rear wheel. The sensor is mounted on a bracket in the body and reports the position of the rear wheel to the suspension control module, so that information is missing.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Open circuit in the ground lead
- The signal cable has contact with the power supply cable
- Poor contact in the connections
- Defective position sensor
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the signal and ground leads to the position sensor at the left rear wheel are intact
- 2Check the connectors in the wiring to the position sensor for loose, corroded or chafed wires
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read live data for the left rear position sensor; if the value is missing, the signal is absent
- 4Check that the suspension system fuses are intact; the owner's manual shows where they are
- 5If the wiring is intact, the position sensor is probably defective. Have a workshop replace it
