Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The suspension control module (SUM) monitors the voltage to the left front damper solenoid and has found that it is too high. The cause is a short circuit from the supply to battery voltage. Four-C is then switched off.
Possible causes
- Power supply to the solenoid is short-circuited to battery voltage
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code and check its fault status after a test drive, so you know whether the fault is still present
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the left front damper solenoid has no contact with the battery positive, with the ignition switched off
- 3Check that the connector at the damper is firmly seated and not damaged
- 4If the wire is sound: have a workshop measure the solenoid resistance and replace the solenoid if needed
Symptoms you may notice2
