SUM-C110D19 - Right Front Damper Solenoid. General Electrical Failures. Circuit current above threshold
System
Suspension Module (SUM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The suspension control module (SUM) measures the current through the right front damper solenoid and has found it too high. The cause is a return wire that has shorted to supply voltage, or a damaged solenoid. Four-C is then switched off.
Possible causes
- The solenoid's return wire is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged solenoid
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status after a test drive to see whether the fault remains
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the return wire from the right front solenoid has no contact with the battery positive, with the ignition switched off
- 3If the wire is sound: have a workshop measure the solenoid resistance and replace the solenoid if needed
Symptoms you may notice2
- Message in the text display
- Four-C does not work
What the fault can affect1
