SUM-C110E1D - Left Rear Damper Solenoid. General Electrical Failures. Circuit current out of range
System
Suspension Module (SUM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The suspension control module (SUM) measures the current through the left rear damper solenoid and gets a value outside the permitted range. The cause may be a return wire shorted to supply voltage, short-circuited solenoid conductors, or a damaged solenoid. Four-C is switched off.
Possible causes
- The solenoid's return wire is short-circuited to supply voltage
- The solenoid's conductors are short-circuited to each other
- Damaged solenoid
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status after a test drive to see whether the fault remains
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the left rear solenoid are not shorted to the battery positive or to each other, with the ignition switched off
- 3If the wires are sound: have a workshop measure the solenoid resistance and replace the solenoid if needed
Symptoms you may notice2
- Message in the text display
- Four-C does not work
What the fault can affect1
