Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The suspension control module (SUM) measures the current through the right rear damper solenoid and has found it too low. The cause can be poor contact, an open circuit in the supply or return wire, or a damaged solenoid. Four-C is switched off.
Possible causes
- Poor contact from oxidation or contact resistance in the connectors
- Open circuit in the power supply wire
- Open circuit in the solenoid's return wire
- Damaged solenoid
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the right rear damper and at the control module for looseness or corrosion
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the solenoid are not broken, with the ignition switched off
- 3Read the fault status after the test drive to see whether the fault remains
- 4If the wires are sound: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment measure the solenoid resistance and remedy as needed
Symptoms you may notice2
