Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The suspension control module (SUM) receives too high a voltage from the left front acceleration sensor. This is because the signal wire is short-circuited to supply voltage, or because the sensor is damaged. Four-C is then switched off.
Possible causes
- Signal wire from the sensor is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged acceleration sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code and see whether the fault status still shows a fault after a test drive
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the left front sensor has no contact with the battery positive, with the ignition switched off
- 3If the wire is sound: have a workshop check the sensor and replace it if needed
