Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The height sensor at the right front wheel gives a signal with too low a voltage, which the SUM interprets as a fault. The height sensor tells the SUM the body's position, so when the signal is wrong the Four-C function is switched off.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- The signal cable from the height sensor is short-circuited to ground
- The height sensor has no power supply
- Damaged height sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual
- 3Check that the connector at the height sensor at the right front wheel is secure and not corroded
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable is not connected to ground (the body) with the connector at the height sensor disconnected
- 5Inspect the cable from the height sensor for chafing and pinch damage, especially where the suspension moves
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the height sensor and the wiring
Symptoms you may notice2
- A message appears in the information display

What the fault can affect1
