Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The SUM receives an ongoing message from the central electronic module (CEM) about the power supply mode. The fault code is set when that message is missing, and the Four-C function is then switched off.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- A break in one of the wires in the CAN network
- One of the wires in the CAN network is short-circuited to ground
- One of the wires in the CAN network is short-circuited to voltage
- The wires in the CAN network are short-circuited to each other
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first and deal with them; codes stored there take priority
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual
- 3Examine the connectors and wiring in the CAN network for loose connections, chafing and pinch damage
- 4Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it is set again
- 5The CEM should not be replaced for CAN faults unless a workshop has shown it has an internal fault; have a workshop with diagnostic equipment trace the CAN network
