What does this fault code mean?
The SUM checks the configuration IDs on the network against the CEM's database. The fault code is set when the SUM finds that a configuration ID on the network is wrong.
Possible causes
- Comparison fault in the signal database between the SUM and the CEM
- A fitted control module has the wrong configuration ID
- A control module has been replaced without new software being loaded into it
What you can do
- 1Has anything recently been replaced in the car, for example a control module? This code can be set if new software was not loaded into it
- 2Read the fault codes in all control modules; if communication faults are present in several, the CEM is the first to look at
- 3Examine the connectors and wiring in the CAN network for loose connections, chafing and pinch damage
- 4Have a workshop check the control module's configuration against the database in the CEM and load in new software if needed
