What does this fault code mean?
The SUM has received invalid or incorrect engine torque data from the engine control module (ECM) over the CAN network. The code is event-driven and is for information only. It does not indicate a fault in the SUM and does not need to be cleared; it disappears when the conditions no longer apply.

- Fault in the engine control module (ECM)
- Fault in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the engine control module (ECM), since the incorrect data comes from there
- 2Deal with any fault codes in the engine control module first, then check whether this code is still present
- 3If there are also communication faults in the SUM, check the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM)
- 4Inspect the connectors and wiring in the CAN network for loose connections, chafing and pinch damage
- 5If the code returns after faults in the ECM have been dealt with, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment trace the CAN network
