SUM-U200E11
VOLVO
SUM-U200E11 - Control Module Output Power B. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Suspension Module (SUM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The SUM supplies voltage to the Four-C sensors in two groups. The supply to the sensors on output B has too low a voltage, which can mean a short circuit to ground. Output B supplies the height sensors for the left front and left rear wheels.
Possible causes
- One sensor supply wire has a short circuit to ground
- Damaged sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the code, note it and clear it, then road test the car
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual
- 3Check the connectors at the sensors on output B: the height sensors for the left front and left rear wheels
- 4Inspect the wiring to the height sensors at the left front and left rear wheels for chafing and pinch damage
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the supply wires have no contact with ground, with the sensors disconnected
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensors and their supply
Symptoms you may notice2
- A message appears in the information display
- The Four-C function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The Four-C function is switched off
