VOLVO
SUM-U200E12 - Control Module Output Power B. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery
System
Suspension Module (SUM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The SUM supplies voltage to the Four-C sensors in two groups. The supply to the sensors on output B has too high a voltage, which can mean a short circuit to voltage. Output B supplies the height sensors for the left front and left rear wheels.
Possible causes
- One sensor supply wire has a short circuit to voltage
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it comes back
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual
- 3Check the connectors at the height sensors for the left front and left rear wheels
- 4Inspect the wiring to the height sensors for chafing and pinch damage
- 5With the sensors disconnected and the ignition on, use a multimeter to check whether the supply wires have voltage to the body
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensors and their supply
Symptoms you may notice2
- A message appears in the information display
- The Four-C function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The Four-C function is switched off
