VOLVO
SUM-U300016 - Control Module. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage below threshold
System
Suspension Module (SUM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The SUM receives a supply voltage that is too low. The causes are a battery voltage that is too low, or contact resistance and oxidation in the connections.
Possible causes
- Battery voltage too low
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
What you can do
- 1Check the condition and charging of the battery; a weak battery can produce this code
- 2Check that the battery terminals and earth connections are clean and tight
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the supply voltage to the SUM in live data with the battery voltage
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the supply to the SUM and the connectors
Symptoms you may notice2
- A message appears in the information display
- The Four-C function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The Four-C function is switched off
