What does this fault code mean?
At some point the steering wheel module (SWM) has registered that the Scan+ control was activated for too long. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred but may not be present now. Station settings can then change by themselves, without the scan+ or scan- buttons being pressed.
Possible causes
- The Scan+ control has been activated for too long
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the Scan+ control does not stick or stay in the activated position
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: check in live data whether the Scan+ control shows as active without being pressed
- 4If the code does not return, no further action is needed
Symptoms you may notice3
- Station settings change by themselves without the scan+ or scan- buttons being pressed
- The steering wheel radio buttons do not work
- The carphone does not work
