What does this fault code mean?
A faulty signal was detected by the steering wheel module (SWM) while checking the intermittent windscreen wiper function. The cause may be a damaged switch for the intermittent wiper or an internal fault in the module. The windscreen wipers do not work as intended.
Possible causes
- Damaged switch for the intermittent windscreen wiper
- Internal fault in the control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the windscreen wiper lever is securely fitted and not loose
- 2Check that the intermittent wiper switch does not stick or stay in the activated position
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the switch position in live data and check that it follows when you select each mode
- 4If no fault is found, the lever can be replaced; if the fault returns, a workshop needs to replace the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The windscreen wipers do not work
What the fault can affect1
- If the wipers are in an active position, they run at the lowest speed
