What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel angle sensor has registered a fault in the clock spring, and the clock spring may have been fitted incorrectly. The stability functions are switched off while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the steering wheel module (SWM)
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check that the clock spring is fitted correctly, so that the white marking shows in its window when the wheels point straight ahead
- 3If the clock spring was fitted one turn out of position, it may have been damaged inside and a workshop needs to replace it
- 4The clock spring is part of the airbag system, so do not work on it yourself; have a workshop fix the fault
Symptoms you may notice2
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- The stability control system does not function
What the fault can affect1
- Active yaw control (AYC) is blocked
