What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel angle sensor has registered that the steering wheel is turned faster than the permitted value. This can happen when the front wheels have hit a curb or a stone. The stability functions are switched off while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- The front wheels have hit a curb or a stone
What you can do
- 1Stability control is switched off while the fault is present, so drive carefully until it has been repaired
- 2Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Check the front wheels and suspension for visible damage after the impact with the curb or stone
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock and check in live data that the angle changes smoothly
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop replace the steering wheel module (SWM), since the angle sensor cannot be replaced separately
Symptoms you may notice2
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- The stability control system does not function
What the fault can affect1
- Active yaw control (AYC) is blocked
