What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel module (SWM) has registered that the car has no trip computer, yet the menu selector and reset button for one are fitted. The cause is an incorrect control stalk fitted on the left-hand side, and cruise control then does not work at all.
Possible causes
- Incorrect control stalk fitted on the left-hand side
What you can do
- 1Check whether the control stalk or keypad has been replaced recently and that it is intended for this car
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the buttons in live data and check whether any shows active without being pressed
- 3Have a workshop check that the correct control stalk is fitted
Symptoms you may notice2
- No function for the trip computer
- Cruise control does not work at all
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
