What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel module (SWM) has registered that radio, phone and volume control is not connected to the steering wheel buttons, even though the buttons on the right-hand side are fitted. The cause is a wrong steering wheel module or keypad, so these functions cannot be controlled from the wheel.
Possible causes
- Wrong steering wheel module or wrong keypad on the right-hand side is fitted in the car
What you can do
- 1Check whether the keypad or the steering wheel module has been replaced recently and that the parts are intended for this car
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the buttons on the right-hand side in live data and check whether they respond when pressed
- 3Have a workshop check that the correct steering wheel module and keypad are fitted
Symptoms you may notice1
- Radio, phone and volume cannot be controlled from the steering wheel
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
