What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel module (SWM) registers the pressing of a button that should not exist in the car. The cause is a wrong version of the steering wheel module fitted, so the carphone buttons and a function button on the wheel do not work.
Possible causes
- Wrong version of the steering wheel module (SWM) fitted
What you can do
- 1If the steering wheel module or the wheel buttons have been replaced recently, check that they are intended for this car
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the button status in live data and see which button shows active without being pressed
- 3Have a workshop check that the correct version of the steering wheel module is fitted
Symptoms you may notice2
- Phone buttons on the wheel stop working
- A function button does not work
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
